Mission:
Silent Vectors
Location: Operations Sphere, Conference Lounge
Timeline: MD1 0100
Looking out the window of her office, Elia wondered, if she needed to get her eyes checked out. She was 976 years old, and considered relatively young for her eyes to start to go. She pressed her arms behind her back and winced at the stars blinking in odd patterns. Her combadge chirped, it was the officer of the watch, Talen Vor.
"Go Ahead Talen." She said.
"You might want to see this Ma'am." the Denobulan said, not in his normally friendly tone, more stern.
Something was definitely off.
She excited her office onto the Operations Sphere. "Status Report?"
There was an Ensign at the Science Console, looking over readings and sweating. "Uhm there is something there, and than there's not. I.... I am not sure Captain." he said.
"Is it a Sensor Ghost? Subspace Fluctuation, a Data Mismatch? What's going on?" Elia walked forward, than a massive pressure from something pressed on her. She stopped and put her hand up to focus on.
"Get the Senior Staff. Talen keep watch, eyes on the Tzenkethi and the Cardassians. Somethings up and I have a feeling they feel it too." Elia walked to the Turbolift and paused, "Anything Changes, contact me." The Turbolift Doors Closed as she zipped off to Deck 3.
Tag>Senior Staff! Let's get ready for investigations!
Jake Spenser was in the security office when the message came that the captain captain wanted everyone to come to the Ops Sphere stat! He got up and rushed to the nearest turbolift.
Lieutenant Commander Coulfer was just about to dip her foot in her bath tub when the call came through.
"Are you effing kidding me!" She ordered the computer to empty the tub and began to hastily throw on her underwear, but took more care on her uniform as she headed out her door and called for crew to make way as she headed towards to the turbo lift.
Hearing her commbadge signal her presence was required Evelyn quickly gave Jason a kiss before rolling out of bed, getting dressed and headed for the required meeting location.
Kaylia was already headed for the C & C, just shifting on foot to head to the nearest turbolift. Humming a little bit as she stepped off of the lift and in the room.
Jerti had been going over duty rosters for her new posting. Although the Concordia wasn't a large station, she still had quite a few crew to take care of. At the moment Ensign Wailing was assigned to the Operations Dome.
She was just finishing up when the call came in. Saving her work, she stood up, adjusted her uniform, grabbed an empty PADD and headed for the turbolift. As she left her office, she sent a message for her Assistant to relieve her.
Miley entered the conference room tying her damp hair back, only barbarians failed to shower before enjoying a hot bath! She sat down at the table and pulled the hackey sack out of her pocket and began to fidget. Looking quite like a rather miffed tabby cat.
Spenser was already seated in the conference room, waiting for the captain. He looked at Miley fidgeting with something.
She gave a glance around a moment and moved to the front of the table, not sitting down yet, but leaning against the back of the chair to the right of the Captain's. "Something wrong, Commander Coulfer?" Yes, she knew her by her service record image and name. Noting Spenser as well.
Miley looked over to the officer that asked her a question. She couldn't put a name to her face though. "Yeah. I'm good thanks. Sorry and your name is?"
She continued to juggle her hackey sack from hand to hand. She noticed Lieutenant Commander Spenser ostensibly not paying any attention to her wet haired antics. She shrugged a 'what can ya do' shrug his direction and dropped the sack to begin bouncing it from foot to foot.
"I've got issues with sitting still. That's why my job is good for me. Waiting on captains, not so much" She added a friendly smirk to the end of her sentence.
Jerti sauntered into the room. It was her usual way of moving. She acknowledged the others with a series of nods before taking an empty seat.
Spenser smiled at her antics, then turned his attention to his padd. "You should get used to waiting on captains, happens more often then you think."
"Weeelllll," Miley began sweetly, kicking the sack into her hands and somehow producing another one, and commenced and impressive series of juggles, before continuing.
"It took me a few years to get here, and I promise I attended, at least physically, all the requisite staff briefings as an Ensign, and as a junior, a looty and thus." She caught the sacks and placed them smartly on the conference table and pulled up a holo interface from the desk.
"Don't mean a like meeting 10,001 anymore than meeting 1."
Miley kept her voice conversational, for this was simply a conversation, but she knows how her scattered manner usually comes across to people. Again, she shrugged, as she began recoding a flight tracker.
Evelyn quietly entered the area and headed for the nearest replicator to order a black coffee. If they wanted her to be present and awake she needed some assistance.
The Captain and the Doctor walked into the room together, Major Lourin was arriving short after.
"Right do I have to take attendance?" Thorne asked out loud, "Who we missing?" she quickly looked around the conference room, as Doctor Rhys continued to run scans on her.
"Captain I wish you would let me examine you in my labs," Rhys said with concern in his voice, "it is far more personal."
"No time Doctor, rest assured it was nothing." she said.
The Major looked over and raised her eyebrow, this was similar to the teachings she had once heard from the prophecies of Sisko. She brushed it off and sat down beside a woman in a grey uniform, "I have never seen a grey uniform before, what does it signify?" Major Lourin of Special Operations asked Miley.
Miley looked over at the major, more thrown off from her coding rhythm than for actually being asked a, rather surprisingly common, question.
"Logistics, Major... Lourin? Is that right? Excuse me im still getting used to the station staff. My job tends to keep me occupied, you understand." Miley offered a friendly smile, reached over her left hand, which was keying commands, with her right to offer a lopsided handshake. Miley hoped no one realized she was ambidextrous, as that would eliminate the fun of such antics.
"Alright let's get going folks." the Captain slapped away the Chief Medical Officer, she could see the shegrin on his face, "At 12:45 I was summoned to the Ops Sphere, we are getting anomalous readings. The readings are insubstantial. However, they are having adverse reactions to some crew. Mostly me, and others like El-Aurians. I needn't say we are near both the Cardassians and the Tzenkethi, this situation can arise into a very uncomfortable one, for us."
"Your orders; Commander Strenvale, take the Sacagawea with Lieutenant Commander Spenser with the Doctor, Jamison and Chambers to the event horizon, while the rest of us will prepare for possible outcomes here. Major Lourin, I would like you to get in touch with the provisional government on New Haven, seeing a friendly face may help - and see how they are faring. Work with Lieutenant Commander Coulfer, and her staff to get them what they need. Let's remember we are not at war, but Tzenkethi are known to be territorial. Be alert people. Dismissed."
Commander Spenser stood and walked over to Commander Strenvale. "Commander. Pleasure to be working with you."
Evelyn lifted her head when her name was called and acknowledged the orders with a nod, without replying verbally.
Miley picked up her hacky sacks and began to make her way to the conference room door as the meeting was breaking up. She gave a polite nod to the captain as she passed, but her mind was already working towards the future.
"Major Lourin, if you could forward me any pertinent information regarding New Haven, I would greatly appreciate it", Miley politely requested. This was how you could tell when she was focused. Quite counter intuitively, she was rather brusque when not sufficiently occupied, then impeccably polite when focused. "In the meantime I will begin making sure the ships have all they need. "
